Jeremy Rogers is a Partner at the firm’s Florida office. Mr. Rogers has substantial experience in many areas of practice. His litigation experience includes the defense and litigation of a variety of labor and employment claims, including race, sex, national origin, disability discrimination, wage and hour, harassment, and retaliation claims. He has also defended cases involving wrongful discharge, breach of fiduciary duty, contract disputes, and federal class action litigation.
Mr. Rogers also provides extensive experience in handling defense of cases involving community associations. He has litigated matters before both administrative agencies and in state and federal court, including actions involving fair housing, statutory compliance, and virtually all other areas of community association litigation.
Mr. Rogers also offers specialized knowledge and skill in the defense of a wide array of general and complex liability matters. Throughout his career, Mr. Rogers has gained considerable knowledge and experience litigating premises, automotive and product liability matters, having defended corporations and individuals. He has litigated matters involving slip-and-falls, automobile negligence, premises liability, vicarious liability of employees, negligent security, false arrest, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, strict products liability, negligent product design and manufacture, and various other areas.
In his cyber practice, Mr. Rogers advises and represents businesses in a variety of matters relating to data security and privacy laws. He helps businesses respond to data breaches and comply with notification laws involving all types of information, ranging from social security numbers to healthcare information to credit card data. He also represents businesses in litigation matters related to data security and privacy, including lawsuits under federal laws such as the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, as well in investigations into privacy practices by agencies like the Federal Trade Commission.
Mr. Rogers has additionally gained valuable experience in defense of various types of healthcare providers, including extensive work over the past ten years with defending skilled nursing facilities and individual providers. In his representation of providers, he has developed the experience and skill necessary to counsel health care professionals, managers, directors, and officers, as well as provider networks and organizations, through litigation defense and avoidance in today’s complex state and federal settings. He has been involved in representation involving issues related to fiduciary obligations, oversight, provider selection and training, compliance, credentialing, employment, reimbursement, and conflict resolution among providers and senior management.
He additionally has experience defending business entities and professionals in various types of claims that include matters related to commercial and residential construction projects, professional malpractice and liability, and statutory and administrative violations, among others. Mr. Rogers is active in the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), currently serving as the Vice Chairman of the Southeastern Chapter.
After a four-year period where he worked in banking, Mr. Rogers attended Stetson University College of Law. While at Stetson, he earned an academic scholarship, was a member of the Stetson Law Review, and ultimately graduated cum laude.
